So on the 28th of May, DJ Goldfinger (I still don't know who he is) celebrated his (???th) birthday at Europa in Sunnyside. The venue was great, the DJ line up was what most Hatfielders and Pretorians are used to, which is good, the bar was friendly, but the vibe? I was honestly expecting more.
Maybe it was because it was a Tuesday and during exam time but the hype around it promised me a alot. So I did feel a little let down, but speaking to various other people, they had fun and we all know why.
The event was organised by DJSulexEntertainment24/7 and the Undisputed DJs which are the regulars at Stones. The hosts for the night were Stephen Jay and Monti who we all know celebrated his birthday at Moloko a few weeks back. It was a well organised event and everything seemed to be running smoothly and contrary to popular belief, there were no safety and security issues with beefy Nigerian men by the door and some big chick with massive boobs by the door like that bodyguard from The Dictator. So I am not saying going to Europa every weekend is safe. I'm just saying by all means, go! Have your fun! But just leave your iPhone, Galaxy and your Xperia at home and take your 3310 and your E250.
Performances by JBoi, Brave D, Enzo, Lil G were really rocking the crowd... To sleep! Their beats were really good and props to their producers but I would really appreciate it if you all did not sound the same and I am speaking to all up and coming rappers in PTA. And fellas, be a little more original with your names. I mean, Brave D!? It sounds like the name of a Native Americans Penis. And Lil G, I think we have enough 'lil' people in this industry!
Anyway, here are some pics of me and a few other people at the event. PEACE!!!!!
